On April 11, 2012, I, John Hendrickson, turned 40. So, rather than focus on "being old", I decided to focus on "new".  For 367 days - from December 31, 2011 to January 1, 2013 - I set a goal to do 40 new things that I had never done before. Some were big, some were small. Some were significant and some were insignificant. They were all new to me. December 31, 2011 - Completed with my dad (age 75 on January 1, 2012) in Cozumel, Mexico.  Sadly, I was much more scared than my dad was!

April 10, 2012 - As part of a snorkeling trip in Roatan, Honduras, we also did a little fishing and caught a tuna.

June 9, 2012 – Saw the Monster Truck Jam at Lincoln Field.

September 30, 2012 – Went to NASCAR in Dover, DE.

  December 3, 2012 - Took a helicopter ride over the Las Vegas strip.

Run (jog or maybe walk) a half marathon.

  December 2, 2012 - Ran the Strip at Night and completed in 3 hours 12 minutes.

  December 31, 2012 - Did my first (very simple) app (the beginning of "BullsEye") and was able to get it to run on my iPad.

Go skiing with my kids.

Feb. 19, 2012 – Heather, the kids and I, went to Jack Frost (in PA) and the kids (especially Norah) loved skiing for the first time.

April 11, 2012 – Rather than going scuba diving, Baris and I visited a public health clinic in Roatan, Honduras to get my ear infection treated.
